In January 2019 we made the jump from our humble 700 sq.ft workshop to our now new 7000 sq.ft workshop and this is how it all started!
So towards the end of 2018 our first garage doors were bursting open, the work load had became so much we needed another day of the week to get through it. But we wouldn't have had it any other way, so we knew the next step forward for the garage was a bigger premises. Now most places choose somewhere that they can fill with their current work load but we decided to take the risk and go for something 10X the size of what we had, with the high hopes of growing into it.
We spent December getting our new workshop ready and as we got ramps in and work stations set-up I think then the realisation of how big this place was kicked in, and so did the nerves about if we can actually get the work to pay for it all. There is a certain feeling that only people who have taken big risks like we did will know, its a crazy amount of excitement mixed with an overwhelming feeling of fear. I would recommend this feeling to everyone to experience as once you get over the fear its something special.
So we got some of our ramps in and the place a good clean, we changed all the lighting to LED to save money and also to brighten the huge space up so it wasnt just a massive cave. Then we were ready to start some work, January was as we expected pretty slow so all our chips were getting bet on February being a record busting month for us.
We had all our fingers and toes and anything else we could crossed that the next month was going to bring us above water...we will have to wait and see!
