Audi A6 came in with no cold air. We used UV dye to find a leak in the condenser. Replaced, re-gassed, and the car now blows cold again — sorted in Newtownabbey.
An Audi A6 rolled into 1Stop Motor Shop in Newtownabbey with a common summer complaint — the air conditioning wasn’t working. The customer reported that the system was blowing warm air, even with the A/C switched on.
Our first check? No refrigerant gas in the system, which usually points to a leak.
Using our aircon machine, we:
Verified there was no gas pressure
Added UV dye to the system
Ran the car with the A/C on
Used UV glasses and lighting to spot any leaks
Sure enough, under the UV light we saw the leak clearly — coming directly from the aircon condenser at the front of the car.
The condenser is like a radiator for your air conditioning system. It cools the refrigerant and allows your A/C to produce cold air. If it leaks, your system loses gas and can’t function.
Symptoms of a faulty condenser include:
Warm air blowing from vents
Hissing or oily residue on front grille
A/C not engaging
Re-gassing that doesn’t last
We replaced the faulty condenser with a new, quality part and:
Ran pressure and leak checks
Re-gassed the system
Road-tested the car
Result? Ice-cold air restored, and the customer left ready for summer driving.
