Wondering what’s included in our free vehicle health checks? Here’s a real example sheet from our Newtownabbey garage showing everything we inspect.
At 1Stop Motor Shop Newtownabbey, we’re often asked:
“What do you actually check in your free vehicle health check?”
To answer, here’s a real-life example of a health check sheet from a Ford Ka we inspected this week. Every check is recorded in detail, with green, amber and red indicators so you know exactly what’s safe, what needs watching, and what needs urgent attention.
Our free inspection covers the whole vehicle, inside and out:
Outside: Bodywork, wipers, mirrors, glass, lights, number plates
Tyres & Wheels: Tread depth, tyre condition, wheel bearings, alignment
Brakes & Suspension: Arms, pads, discs, hoses, wheel studs, shock absorbers
Engine Bay: Oil level, coolant level, belts, exhaust, steering, leaks
Inside: Seat belts, horn, blower, heater, air conditioning, warning lights
Service Items: Oil condition, service book, last service date, diagnostic check
We also note down tyre tread measurements (in millimetres), and include photos when needed — so customers can see the issue for themselves.
Catching issues early can save you from:
Unexpected breakdowns
MOT failures
Expensive repair bills
Unsafe driving conditions
For example, the Ford Ka we inspected this week had:
Both front tyres below the legal limit
Suspension arms needing replacement
A collapsed rear subframe requiring urgent repair
Because the owner had the free health check, they now know exactly what’s wrong and can plan repairs safely.
Whether you’re driving a family car, work van, or high-performance vehicle, our free health & safety checks give you peace of mind.
